This latest book by local author Ken Marsh contains many photographs, illustrations, maps, and charts. This book is the latest and most comprehensive book written about Alaska’s Upper Susitna Valley. It is the story of the discovery and opening up of this area of Alaska to the developing world. While other areas of Alaska were being explored and developed, this immense area, which lies near the foot of majestic Denali, remained a “sealed book” for much longer in Alaska’s history. It wasn’t until the discovery of gold in Upper Susitna’s Cache Creek that the door to this area was opened to the world.
